BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) acquired $195.6 million worth of Bitcoin, according to on-chain data from Arkham. Flow data recorded IBIT’s net inflow for the session at $195.57 million, making it the highest contributor of any fund that day while Bitcoin traded above $86,000.
The broader group of US spot Bitcoin ETFs finished the session with a net inflow of $102.67 million. Because IBIT's individual haul exceeded the total net inflow for the entire category, the other participating funds were collectively net sellers during that session. This positive day reversed the prior session, which had seen the spot Bitcoin ETF category post an outflow of approximately $149 million.
Over a 30-day period, the spot Bitcoin ETF category drew approximately $2.99 billion in net inflows, with IBIT acting as the top recipient. BlackRock's fund accounted for more than half of the month's net capital influx.
Launched in January 2024 following approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission, IBIT has grown to become the largest US spot Bitcoin ETF by assets under management, with its AUM reaching $109.34 billion. The fund operates with a management fee of 0.25% and utilizes authorized participants—large trading firms that create and redeem shares based on investor demand—to ensure shares remain backed by real Bitcoin on a 1:1 basis.
