BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust drew approximately $665.16 million in net inflows on Monday, October 19, according to SoSoValue fund-flow figures, even as several competing U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded withdrawals.
The inflow into IBIT was larger than the roughly $526.6 million combined net inflow reported for the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF category. That gap shows that money entering BlackRock’s fund more than offset money leaving rival products.
Rivals post outflows
Fidelity’s FBTC recorded about $83.6 million in net outflows, while Grayscale’s GBTC saw roughly $54.9 million leave the fund. The figures point to a preference for the market’s biggest Bitcoin ETF rather than uniform demand across all products.
The session followed a Friday in which the group as a whole recorded net withdrawals, highlighting how quickly fund flows can shift with market volatility and broader risk sentiment.
What fund flows show
ETF flow data can indicate subscriptions and redemptions, but it should not be treated as a direct measure of new cash buying Bitcoin at a given hour. Fund mechanics and market-making activity complicate that interpretation.
A single day’s figures also cannot establish why individual institutions moved money. The next question is whether demand will spread to other Bitcoin ETF products or whether IBIT will continue to absorb most of the market’s incremental interest.
