BitMine Immersion Technologies [BMNR] stock continued its price recovery following the addition of another 32,447 Ethereum [ETH] to its treasury. The latest acquisition brings the company closer to its stated goal of owning 5% of Ethereum’s total supply, while also leaving its shares trading close to the value of its underlying assets.
BitMine Ethereum Holdings Reach 5.85 Million ETH
According to its latest weekly update as of August 23, BitMine held 5,847,611 ETH, representing approximately 4.8% of Ethereum’s circulating supply and placing the firm 97% of the way toward its 5% target.
With Ethereum priced at $2,440, the tokens were valued at roughly $14.3 billion. BitMine reported total holdings of $14.9 billion, which includes 210 Bitcoin, $308 million in cash and marketable securities, and strategic stakes in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings.
A week prior, the company's holdings were valued at $11.4 billion. The $3.5 billion increase was driven largely by a 30% rally in Ethereum over recent days, alongside an increase in the value of BitMine's cash outside investments.
Furthermore, BitMine has staked 5.07 million ETH, estimating that the staked assets could generate around $330 million in annual revenue at current prices.
BMNR Stock Catches Up With Underlying Assets
BMNR traded at $24.68, marking a 2.24% gain during the session. The stock rose from below $19 over the preceding days, briefly touching $24.82 and returning to price levels last seen during its April and May peaks.
Earlier in the session, treasury data indicated an asset value of $23.85 per share while BMNR traded at $23.71, leaving the stock valued at 0.99 times its holdings. The subsequent rise to $24.68 erased that discount, meaning investors were paying approximately the direct value of BitMine’s holdings rather than a large premium.
Following the rapid advance, market observers note that BMNR could experience a pause or a partial pullback. The stock remains closely tied to Ethereum, meaning any drop in the price of ETH could reduce the treasury's value and quickly weigh on BMNR shares.
