Breakout, a crypto-focused proprietary trading firm, has added gold to its trading offerings. Gold became available on October 29, 2026, under the ticker GOLD, with trading leverage of up to 5x and a maximum position size of $500,000—the largest cap Breakout applies to any commodity.
The firm also announced a 50% reduction in trading fees across its real-world asset (RWA) markets, cutting rates from 0.04% to 0.02% per order, effective the same date.
Expanded Commodities Lineup
Gold joins Breakout's existing RWA menu, which includes Brent crude, natural gas, and copper. The platform also offers traditional markets such as the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 indices. All markets, including gold, are tradable 24/7.
The gold product tracks traditional or synthetic spot prices rather than tokenized gold holdings.
How Breakout's Model Works
Breakout operates as a proprietary trading firm where traders must pass an evaluation before accessing funded capital. Successful traders can access up to $200,000 in firm capital and retain between 80% and 90% of profits generated. Accounts operate under maximum drawdown and daily loss limits to manage risk.
The firm raised $4.5 million in seed funding in July 2024 and has paid out more than $80 million to traders to date.
Implications
The $500,000 position cap for gold exceeds limits on other commodities, suggesting the firm expects higher trader interest in gold. The fee reduction directly improves trade economics across all RWA markets. However, leverage of up to 5x increases risk, and funded accounts can be lost through consecutive losses within the firm's drawdown and daily loss limits.
