Bybit has expanded its platform to include U.S. equities trading, allowing eligible cryptocurrency traders to purchase more than 1,000 U.S.-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds through their existing accounts. The announcement came on October 12, with the service funded by USDC stablecoin balances and available to users who have completed identity verification and meet eligibility requirements.
The initial offerings include major companies such as Apple Inc., Nvidia Corp., Tesla Inc., and Micron Technology Inc., along with the Invesco QQQ ETF. Fractional share purchases are available for eligible securities, allowing investors to buy less than one full share.
Service Features
Trades through the platform carry no commissions and are available 24 hours a day, five days a week, with access across U.S. premarket, regular, and after-hours trading sessions. Cash dividends from held positions are converted to USDC and credited to user accounts. Stock dividends appear directly in positions, while stock splits adjust holdings accordingly.
Purchases and holdings are managed through Bybit's Unified Trading Account interface, which consolidates cryptocurrency and equity positions in a single login. Execution and custody of securities are handled separately through partnerships with Alpaca and Infra Capital Limited, with Alpaca Securities LLC serving as the U.S. broker-dealer. Voting rights are planned for a future phase.
Expansion Into Traditional Markets
This launch builds on Bybit's earlier move into traditional markets in 2025, when stock derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodity contracts became available through the platform. The new offering represents a shift from derivatives-based products to direct equity ownership.
Multiple cryptocurrency exchanges have made similar expansions. Kraken launched commission-free trading in more than 11,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs in April 2025 with fractional purchases. Binance introduced more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs on June 1, with purchases funded in USDC starting at $5 for fractional shares. Coinbase offers U.S. stocks and ETFs to eligible U.S. residents through Coinbase Capital Markets. Crypto.com and Gemini have incorporated brokerage services, while Robinhood combines both asset classes in its U.S. app.
