Bybit has released a comprehensive Restricted Counterparty List identifying crypto platforms, wallets, and organizations barred from its services. The list spans trading platforms, payment processors, mixers, darknet markets, and sanctioned entities.
The restrictions are based on Bybit's Platform Terms and Conditions, which prohibit services to entities designated under applicable sanctions frameworks, including names on the U.S. Treasury's Specially Designated Nationals list and the EU's Consolidated Financial Sanctions List.
Restricted Platforms and Services
The list includes trading platforms such as Garantex, Bitzlato, EXMO, Payeer, and Nobitex. Additional flagged platforms include Bitpapa, Chatex, Cryptex, Grinex, Rapira, WhiteBird, OMPFinex, Ramzinex, HTX, and Wallex. The list also covers payment and exchange services including Tetherland, Bit24, QvaPay, Huione Guarantee, and Xinbi Guarantee, with the latter two facing scrutiny for facilitating illicit fund transfers across Southeast Asia.
Mixing services on the list include Samourai Wallet, Bitcoin Fog, and ChipMixer, alongside darknet markets Sinbad and Hydra Market.
Sanctioned Organizations
Beyond crypto platforms, Bybit's list names organizations including Lazarus Group, also known as Hidden Cobra, alongside Hamas, Ansarallah, and ISIS-K.
Compliance and Ongoing Screening
Bybit conducts transaction screening on an ongoing basis rather than as a one-time check. Where a connection to a prohibited entity is identified, Bybit may suspend or terminate accounts, block related transactions, file regulatory reports, and liquidate open positions tied to the account.
Users who transact with or transfer funds to a prohibited entity violate Bybit's terms and are required to inform the exchange immediately upon becoming aware of such a transaction. Bybit reserves the right to cooperate with regulatory bodies and law enforcement authorities across relevant jurisdictions to maintain compliance with applicable laws.
