Cancore, a trading platform built on Canton, said on October 28 that it raised $7.2 million in a seed round. Paper Ventures, dao5, ArkStream Capital, X Ventures, MH Ventures, and Proof of Talk participated in the financing.
The company said it plans to link assets on Canton with more buyers, sellers, and funds across other blockchains. The goal is to make assets easier to trade across separate networks, a practical hurdle for tokenized finance.
Cross-chain trading plans
Cancore has been active on Canton's main network since April, according to its announcement. Its platform lets users exchange Canton-based assets for assets on supported public blockchains.
The company says users keep control of their wallet keys. Its trading process is designed so that both sides of an exchange complete, or the funds are refunded.
Cancore intends to use the funding to add blockchain connections and trading liquidity while developing security systems and automated trading tools. It also wants users to create AI agents that can execute strategies and manage positions on their behalf.
Reported activity
Cancore said it had processed more than $53.2 million in cumulative trading volume across 84,000 trades as of October 1. It reported more than $538,000 in protocol revenue over the same period.
CC trading
CC traded near $0.1007 at the time of writing, up 2.4% from the previous day, with the move coinciding with the latest development.
Trading volume reached roughly 180,020 CC, higher than the level seen in the prior four days. The volume bar turned green as the price recovered after three red bars, indicating more buyers than sellers at the time.
CC had fallen from an intraday high near $0.1043 and remained below its recent price averages. The positive trend provided some relief within October's decline but did not guarantee a lasting turnaround or a response to Cancore's funding.
