CAP, the credit-backed platform's native token, rallied 24% over the past 24 hours, outperforming many top-200 cryptocurrencies. The advance was accompanied by increased activity across spot and perpetual markets, with bullish positioning indicators suggesting potential for further gains.
Whether the momentum persists may depend on whether buyers maintain their positions as leveraged exposure grows across derivatives markets.
Derivatives Activity Points to Retail Engagement
CAP's Funding Rate stood at 0.0208%, indicating that traders holding long positions were paying those holding shorts—a signal of bullish sentiment in the perpetual market. However, this metric alone cannot establish whether traders are overexposed or whether additional gains will follow.
Open Interest in CAP derivatives rose 26% to $28.61 million, reflecting increased outstanding exposure. Trading volume in perpetual contracts climbed 151% to $75.9 million at press time.
The Long/Short Ratio reached 1.65 over the past hour, a reading above one that indicated more long than short exposure within the tracked sample. The Whale-Retail Delta fell to -0.066, suggesting retail positioning was stronger relative to whale positioning.
Holder Base Expands Alongside Price Gains
CAP's holder count reached 5,540 addresses, according to CoinMarketCap, up from approximately 5,130 at the start of October—an increase of roughly 410 addresses. The expansion suggested the holder base had grown alongside price appreciation.
However, an increase in holder addresses does not reveal the size of individual purchases or the duration buyers intend to hold. Continued spot accumulation could strengthen the bullish case if holders maintain their tokens through near-term price swings.
The Next Test Ahead
A key question remains whether bullish traders will unwind their positions, which could add pressure after the sharp advance and potentially test the strength of current support levels.
