Capital B has acquired an additional 376 Bitcoin for €25.3 million, equating to roughly $29 million. The purchase increases the company's total treasury to 3,521 BTC.
This latest acquisition places Capital B close to Bitcoin Group SE, which holds 3,605 BTC and currently leads the European public company Bitcoin treasury rankings, leaving a gap of only 84 BTC between the two firms.
Funding and Recent Transactions
In late August, Capital B closed a €7.6 million investment from Blockstream CEO Adam Back via a stock issuance. This transaction was part of a larger €21 million placement that also included institutional investor TOBAM.
Formerly known as The Blockchain Group, the company has actively accumulated Bitcoin since November 2024. Before this purchase, the firm held 3,145 BTC with an average acquisition price of approximately €90,352 per coin. The newest tranche of 376 BTC was acquired at an average cost of roughly €67,300 per coin.
Capital B reported a year-to-date Bitcoin Yield of 2.17%, a metric tracking the change in Bitcoin per share on a fully diluted basis.
Corporate Strategy and Custody
Positioning itself as a Bitcoin Treasury Company, Capital B utilizes equity issuances and capital markets to fund its purchases. The firm's Bitcoin assets are custodied by Swissquote Bank Europe, a regulated banking institution.
