Cardano's stablecoin market has crossed $70 million in total supply, marking steady growth in dollar-pegged tokens on the network. According to DefiLlama's October 18 snapshot, stablecoins circulating on Cardano reached approximately $70.2 million, representing a 31% increase over the preceding 30 days.
USDC dominates the stablecoin landscape on Cardano, accounting for roughly $44.5 million or 63.5% of tracked stablecoins. Moneta's USDM represents the second-largest allocation at approximately $13.5 million, while RealFi USDrf and Anzens USDA make up smaller portions of the total supply.
Stablecoins as Infrastructure
For decentralized finance ecosystems, stablecoin supply serves as a foundational element. These dollar-denominated assets provide liquidity for traders and lenders, and developers rely on them to support borrowing, payments, and settlement functions across applications.
Growth Context and Considerations
The 31% increase should be weighed against the relatively modest base Cardano operates from compared with stablecoin markets on larger networks like Ethereum. Percentage growth figures can appear significant when built on a smaller initial supply.
Additionally, growth in circulating stablecoin supply does not necessarily indicate corresponding increases in active usage. Transaction volumes, lending application revenues, and demand for ADA require separate analysis beyond circulation figures alone. The next phase for Cardano's stablecoin market will demonstrate whether the additional liquidity drives productive use across the network's applications.
