The coin is an unofficial cat meme named after Robinhood's discontinued CashCat brand. Its rapid ascent reflects broader activity on Robinhood Chain, where the top three coins—PONS, CASHCAT, and AI—each have market caps exceeding $280 million, outpacing the fourth-ranked coin by more than 8 times.
Cash Cat has drawn liquidity from competing cat-themed memecoins across other blockchains. Its $287 million market cap dwarfs Base Chain's BASECAT at $25 million and surpasses earlier cat memes like POPCAT, which stands at $49 million.
