Oracle network Chainlink announced 12 new protocol integrations spanning 10 blockchains and six services on August 17. The expansion brings fresh Chainlink support to Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, BOB, Botanix, HyperCore, HyperEVM, Solana, Sonic, and World Chain.
Details of the Integration Update
The 12 integrations incorporate protocols such as build_on_bob, Chintai Network, ICE Markets, and Numa Money. These integrations utilize Chainlink's core product suite, which includes data feeds for reliable price data and the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for cross-chain messaging.
Data feeds provide smart contracts with tamper-resistant external price data utilized by lending protocols and decentralized exchanges. Meanwhile, CCIP enables communication across various Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchains.
Ecosystem Growth and Strategy
This batch represents an increase in scope and chain coverage compared to a recent prior update that covered 8 integrations across 6 chains. Cumulative transaction value facilitated by the oracle network stands in the tens of trillions of dollars.
The inclusion of newer environments like BOB and Botanix provides developers with baseline infrastructure for price feeds and cross-chain communication. In more established ecosystems like Solana and Coinbase's Layer 2 network Base, continued integration addresses ongoing demand for oracle services as new protocols launch.
Chainlink's multi-chain strategy provides a structural advantage for protocols operating across multiple networks by offering a single provider. Additionally, the inclusion of six distinct services highlights the network's product diversification beyond basic price feeds into areas such as verifiable randomness, proof of reserves, and automation services.
