Binance founder Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao stated on Thursday that the wider crypto market is missing the broader significance of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) bringing the decentralized perpetual futures exchange Hyperliquid to the United States. Zhao asserted that the policy will benefit the entire cryptocurrency industry rather than a single project.

Speaking at the SALT Conference’s Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, Zhao emphasized that regulatory policy cannot be restricted to just one company. His comments followed statements from President Donald Trump during a White House meeting with crypto and technology executives, where Trump revealed that CFTC Chair Michael Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. market in a compliant manner.

“This is not just about Hyperliquid,” Zhao said. “There will be so many Perp DEX’s & decentralized services available to US users... This is hugely positive for everyone in the industry.”

President Trump’s remarks triggered an immediate market reaction, with the HYPE token price rising significantly. Decentralized derivatives products have historically faced limited access for U.S. users due to regulatory constraints, while drawing attention from Wall Street for offering high leverage and deep liquidity.

Other related assets also saw positive movement, including Aster—a decentralized perpetual exchange backed by Zhao's family office, YZi Labs—which experienced a price increase. Meanwhile, the broader cryptocurrency market capitalization grew, with Bitcoin reclaiming the $72,000 level and Ethereum posting notable gains.
