Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has defended the network against growing criticism regarding its relevance, asserting that the ecosystem will succeed and pointing to a potential collaboration with Ethereum developers.
During a recent interview on The Breakdown with David Gokhshtein, Hoskinson addressed claims that Cardano is losing ground. The criticism has intensified amid ADA's sharp decline from past highs, governance disputes, and project struggles. ARK Invest's Lorenzo Valente previously questioned the network's continuing presence in industry discussions on social media.
Hoskinson rejected the narrative, encouraging the community to focus on long-term potential. "Don't bet against me, we're gonna win this fight," he stated. ADA price performance provided some immediate support for his comments, with the altcoin gaining roughly 26% over a one-week period.
Development and Scalability Initiatives
Hoskinson also highlighted ongoing development work aimed at improving network capabilities. Ouroboros Leios is designed to significantly increase Cardano's transaction-processing capacity, while Hydra serves as a Layer-2 initiative focused on faster and more efficient transactions as Cardano competes with networks like Ethereum and Solana.
Proposed Ethereum Collaboration
In addition to internal upgrades, Hoskinson suggested that Cardano and Ethereum developers should work together. He proposed that Ethereum explore Cardano's UTXO-based technology, which alters how smart contracts and transactions are processed.
According to Hoskinson, the academic and engineering collaboration would not require funding or apologies for past disputes, and could yield a working integration within a matter of months. Such cooperation could potentially connect Cardano more closely with Ethereum and extend the value of its technology beyond ADA's market price.
