Investment manager CMCC Global has announced plans to tokenize two digital-asset funds through infrastructure supplied by Tether and a regulated securities venue operated by Bitfinex. The funds will be issued and managed on Tether's Hadron platform and distributed through Bitfinex Securities under El Salvador's digital-asset framework.
The two offerings are Crest, a dollar-denominated fund designed to outperform Treasury-bill yields, and the Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (LBAF), which measures performance in Bitcoin with a stated target annualized net return of 8% to 12% in BTC terms. CMCC describes both as fund-of-funds structures with issuance, token management, and distribution handled through the Tether and Bitfinex platforms.
The tokenized offerings represent economic interests in underlying fund shares. According to CMCC, tokens are created against corresponding shares and destroyed upon redemption, maintaining the structure of a managed investment product with legal and operational conditions rather than a permissionless token.
Bitfinex Securities will handle issuance, distribution, and secondary trading facilities. The offerings will include identity verification, anti-money-laundering requirements, and whitelisted addresses for eligible self-custody investors.
An institutional investor, BTCS S.A., has agreed in principle to provide an anchor allocation described as a three-digit amount of Bitcoin, though the exact commitment remains undisclosed. The stated issue prices are $10 per Crest token and 0.0001 BTC per LBAF token.
Investors should note that token unit prices do not guarantee portfolio returns or secondary-market liquidity. For Bitcoin-denominated investments, returns measured in BTC can differ substantially from returns measured in U.S. dollars depending on Bitcoin's market price.
