CME Group announced plans to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts on October 19, subject to regulatory review. The new offerings will be available in both standard and micro contract sizes.
Bitcoin Cash futures will represent 250 BCH per standard contract, with micro contracts covering 25 BCH. Uniswap futures will cover 10,000 UNI per standard contract, with micro versions trading at 1,000 UNI.
The expansion reflects CME's broader strategy to add altcoins to its regulated futures lineup. Earlier this year, the exchange launched Avalanche and Sui futures in May, following February's rollout of Cardano, Chainlink, and Stellar contracts. CME's existing crypto suite includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana futures.
CME reported strong activity across its crypto derivatives in the first half of 2026. The exchange said its crypto futures and options averaged 279,800 contracts daily, worth $8.3 billion in notional volume, with average open interest of 264,600 contracts representing $15.4 billion. The newer altcoin products launched this year generated more than $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
Bitcoin Cash, which split from Bitcoin in 2017, is built for larger block sizes and cheaper payments. Uniswap operates the largest decentralized exchange in crypto, with UNI serving as the protocol's governance token.
If regulatory review proceeds as scheduled, Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap will become CME's tenth and eleventh single-asset crypto futures products.
