Coinbase has flagged delays affecting users who move Celestia's TIA token on and off the exchange. The disruption is limited to sends and receives on the Celestia network—on-chain transfers between Coinbase accounts and outside addresses. All other platform functions continue normally.
Trading activity, including order matching, purchases with dollars, and sales into fiat, remains uninterrupted. Coinbase confirmed that customer funds are secure despite the transfer delays.
What's Affected and What Isn't
The issue does not impact transactions conducted within Coinbase's internal systems. Users can continue buying and selling TIA without interruption. Only those moving tokens to external wallets or other exchanges will experience delays.
Recent History
Coinbase has reported similar issues with Celestia transfers before. In November 2025, the exchange flagged delayed sends and receives, which resolved within approximately one day. Additional disruptions were noted in January 2026 and April 2026. During the November 2025 incident, trading continued normally with no significant market reaction.
About Celestia
Celestia launched in October 2023 as a modular data availability network, with TIA serving as its native token. The network separates consensus and data availability functions from transaction execution, delegating the latter to other layers. Coinbase offered staking and custody support from the network's mainnet launch, and TIA remains actively traded on the platform.
Celestia is currently pursuing technical upgrades, including its v10 "Fibre" upgrade focused on increasing throughput. As of October 2026, the network maintained an active development roadmap with a circulating supply of approximately 920 million TIA.
