Coinfest Asia 2026, held August 20–21 in Bali, brought together 10,000 participants from 90 countries to discuss the future of digital assets. The two-day festival, organized by Indonesia Crypto Network, featured policy discussions, regulatory forums, and business networking across five beach clubs in the Melasti Beach area.
The event included participation from Indonesia's Ministry of Investment, House of Representatives, and Financial Services Authority, alongside global industry figures. Notable attendees included Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chairman of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives; Yi He, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Binance; and Charles Hoskinson, Founder and CEO of Input Output.
Regulation and Innovation
Regulatory officials emphasized the importance of balancing oversight with industry growth. Mukhamad Misbakhun stated that supervision should not hinder innovation, noting potential applications for tokenization in Indonesian mining, property, and infrastructure sectors.
The festival also aligned with Indonesia's vision to establish an International Financial Center, projected to attract between US$16.9 billion and US$28.1 billion in investment. Government representatives indicated interest in incorporating digital assets and crypto as part of this development.
Key Discussion Topics
Prominent sessions focused on stablecoins, asset tokenization, and institutional adoption. Industry leaders discussed how blockchain technology can deliver tangible benefits to society at scale, with particular attention to the integration of Web3 and traditional financial systems.
An Institutional Summit brought together regulators, financial institutions, and digital asset companies to explore collaboration opportunities. Discussions included asset tokenization strategies and the use of stablecoins for institutional payments and settlement.
Programs and Competitions
Beyond policy discussions, Coinfest Asia hosted the Protocol Camp Cohort 9 Final Demo, featuring six Indonesian Web3 and AI products developed through a collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy. The Alpha Arena Trading Competition Grand Final, supported by MEXC Ventures, offered a total prize pool of US$100,000 for traders across Asia.
Coinfest Asia has been held annually since 2019, evolving from a community gathering into a major regional conference for digital asset industry players and policymakers.
