Cosmos [ATOM] gained 3.71% over the past 24 hours, outperforming most cryptocurrencies as broader markets faced headwinds. The rally came alongside a 59% spike in daily trading volume, according to CoinMarketCap data.
The broader cryptocurrency market weakened after Bitcoin dropped 3% from $84,000 to $81,416 on October 22. While ATOM declined 1.94% on the same day, the altcoin recovered with stronger performance on the following trading day.
Technical Resistance at $2
Cosmos has faced a bearish price structure since early October, when the $3.38 low was breached. The current trading range sits between a $1.21 low and $2.30 high. The $2 level represents a critical zone—it has functioned as a supply area since March and briefly flipped to support in May before sellers regained control in June.
Lower timeframe analysis showed bullish momentum clearing the $1.778 local resistance level, though the Capital Money Flow indicator remained below +0.05, suggesting limited capital inflows.
Mixed Signals on Momentum
The Awesome Oscillator on lower timeframes made a bullish crossover above the zero line, contrasting with the 90-day spot taker Cumulative Volume Delta, which recently turned neutral after remaining positive through September and October.
A sustained advance toward $2 would require not only continued technical momentum but also evidence of real demand reflected in exchange trading volume and positive metrics across multiple indicators.
