Cross River Bank has partnered with Ripple to integrate RLUSD, a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, into its Core Operating System. The integration supports transactions on the XRP Ledger, a public blockchain, bringing traditional banking infrastructure and blockchain-based payments closer within the regulated U.S. financial system.
The partnership allows fintechs to access RLUSD payments through a single API connection without deploying their own blockchain infrastructure. Customers can move between U.S. dollars and RLUSD on the platform while accessing ACH, wires, and real-time payments through the same interface.
Settlement Speed and Availability
RLUSD transactions on the XRP Ledger settle in three to five seconds at a fraction of a cent. Payments can move 24/7, enabling cross-border transfers and treasury movement outside traditional banking hours. The XRP Ledger has settled more than $1.3 trillion in value to date.
Market Growth
RLUSD has grown to more than $2.5 billion in market capitalization, with more than $1 billion issued on the XRP Ledger. Demand for regulated stablecoins continues to rise across payments, trading, and institutional use cases.
Cross River Bank described its platform as an integration layer between regulated financial services and blockchain-based payment networks. Services from Cross River Bank are currently available only in limited states.
