Cryptocurrency markets experienced significant volatility this week as geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty weighed on investor sentiment. Bitcoin and major altcoins faced selling pressure while liquidations amplified price swings. However, a select group of altcoins bucked the broader weakness, posting strong gains.
Weekly Gainers
Starknet (STRK) led this week's gainers, climbing 88% to reach $0.12. The Layer-2 scaling network's rally brought the token back to levels last seen in late Q4 2025, approaching recovery of October losses when STRK peaked near $0.30. The rapid advance has driven technical indicators into overbought territory on the weekly chart, though daily momentum remained strong.
Bitway (BTW) posted the second-largest gain, climbing 35% and approaching the $1.70 mark. The token achieved 10 consecutive weekly green candles, with daily dips attracting consistent buying interest. Volumes remained elevated, supporting the continued uptrend.
Aerodrome Finance (AERO), a decentralized exchange, gained 11% for the week. The token moved past mid-September resistance near $0.92 and approached the $1 level, with relative strength indicators remaining below overbought levels.
Weekly Losers
Venice Token (VVV) experienced the steepest decline, falling 25% after seven consecutive winning sessions had propelled the asset to $35. The bearish reversal erased the prior week's gains, marking the first red weekly candle in over a month.
Sky (SKY), a governance token, shed 17% following several weeks of gains. The decline marked the token's first correction since the beginning of a rally in Q2 2026, after relative strength indicators had entered overbought territory.
Rain (RAIN) posted an 8% drop, the smallest among major losers but part of a six-week downtrend. The recent decline followed five consecutive weeks of losses averaging near 6% each.
Broader Market Losses
Mina Protocol (MINA) led all losers with a 47% decline, followed by Capricorn (APR) falling 44% and Chump Coin (CHUMP) slipping 43% as bearish momentum intensified across the market.
