Crypto exchange Bitget has launched a synthetic futures contract tracking Jio Platforms ahead of the company's anticipated listing on Indian exchanges. The move represents an unusual window where crypto derivatives traders can price the subsidiary of Reliance Industries before traditional IPO bookbuilding begins.
On October 14, 2026, Bitget rolled out JIOUSDT, a perpetual futures contract tied to Jio Platforms' expected market valuation. Unlike equity ownership, the contract offers synthetic exposure without voting rights, dividends, or claims on the company. Traders can use up to 20x leverage, meaning a 5% adverse price move could eliminate a fully leveraged position's margin.
The perpetual contract trades around the clock with funding payments settling every eight hours. This creates a continuously updated market signal between the October 14 launch and the expected October 28 listing date.
The IPO Details
Jio Platforms aims to raise approximately ₹30,200 crore, or around $3.1 to $3.2 billion. The company plans to issue up to 270 million shares at a price band of ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share. Public subscription runs from October 21 to 23, 2026, with shares expected to list on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange on October 28.
At the offering price, Jio Platforms' implied valuation is projected at around ₹10.3 lakh crore, or approximately $106 to $108 billion. The capital raised will go primarily toward reducing debt in the telecom division.
Market Dynamics
Jio Platforms serves more than 524 million users across mobile, broadband, cloud services, and other digital businesses. The crypto derivatives market represents a different investor base than traditional IPO subscribers, with leveraged traders potentially more reactive to price movements than institutional investors.
JIOUSDT pricing relative to the IPO price band will offer a gauge of market sentiment. Crypto derivatives can introduce increased volatility when paired with major IPO events, particularly given the high leverage available to traders.
