Two major crypto treasury firms reported significant portfolio expansions this week, underscoring the continued institutional adoption of digital asset holding strategies.
Bitmine now holds 6,016,414 ETH, equivalent to approximately 4.9% of Ethereum's 122.1 million total supply. The firm acquired 15,112 ETH last week alone and says it is 99% of the way toward its stated goal of owning 5% of all ETH. Bitmine launched its ETH treasury strategy on June 30, 2025.
The firm has staked 5,067,309 ETH, valued at $13.8 billion at current prices. According to Bitmine, annualized staking revenue from these holdings is projected at $363 million. Beyond its Ethereum position, Bitmine's portfolio includes 214 BTC, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, and a $117 million stake in Eightco Holdings, with total crypto, cash, and securities valued at $17.4 billion.
Strategy, identified as the world's largest crypto treasury, purchased 334 BTC between October 1 and 4 at an average price of $85,839, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 BTC. The purchase was funded with $15.7 million from share sales and $13 million in cash. Strategy also repurchased $176.3 million of preferred shares during the same period. Its bitcoin holdings are valued at approximately $70.82 billion as of September 30.
The two firms employ different strategies. Bitmine stakes its ETH to generate yield, while Strategy holds bitcoin without staking and relies on equity sales and buybacks for funding.
Strategy's third-quarter digital asset portfolio recorded an estimated $20.91 billion gain. Bitmine's total digital assets, cash, and securities stand at $17.4 billion.
