On the four-hour chart, DOGE trades below both its 50 and 100 period exponential moving averages at $0.0870 and $0.0857, signaling a downtrend. The relative strength index reads 35, approaching oversold territory but not yet there. According to FXStreet analysis from September 11, the 200 period EMA at $0.0827 represents the critical support level. A break below would expose Fibonacci extension targets at $0.0745 and $0.0673.
Market Headwinds Mounting
The broader meme coin sector has contracted significantly. Total meme coin market capitalization fell to approximately $32 billion from $38 billion in August, per CoinGecko. Privacy coins have gained relative strength, with Zcash trading above $1,000 and Monero above $500.
