Eric Trump has taken to social media to deny rumors that President Donald Trump is launching another cryptocurrency. Describing the claims as completely untrue, he warned that anyone suggesting otherwise is committing a fraud.
The denial followed a post by the X account Whale Scan concerning Trump-linked tokens. While no new coins are being launched, existing tokens associated with the family remain significantly below their all-time highs.
The Official Trump (TRUMP) token previously reached an all-time high of $73.43 shortly after its launch before experiencing a prolonged decline, trading at $2.58. The Melania Meme (MELANIA) token, launched two days after TRUMP, dropped nearly 99% from its peak to trade around $0.1074. Additionally, the World Liberty Financial (WLFI) governance token, which briefly reached approximately $0.33, traded near $0.06, marking a decline of about 78% from its peak.
Simultaneously, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has continued selling portions of its Bitcoin holdings as Bitcoin's price declined. The company previously purchased 11,542 BTC for $1.368 billion at an average price of $118,529, and recently sold another 2,628 BTC for $165.07 million, reportedly locking in approximately $145 million in losses.
These market developments coincide with recent financial disclosures showing that family-backed cryptocurrency ventures generated more than $1.4 billion in reported 2025 income for the Trump business empire. These earnings have drawn external scrutiny, including renewed criticism from TRON founder Justin Sun regarding the risks surrounding WLFI and its USD1 stablecoin.
