US spot Ethereum ETFs experienced $320.1 million in net withdrawals between October 12 and 16, according to data from Farside Investors, surpassing the $228.4 million withdrawn from comparable Bitcoin products during the same period.
The outflow pattern reflects a shift in relative pressure between the two largest cryptocurrency investment funds. Ethereum funds had recorded approximately $542 million in withdrawals over the preceding five sessions, making this week's figure less severe than the prior period. Bitcoin redemptions, meanwhile, slowed considerably during the October 12-16 window, allowing Ethereum to lead in total outflows.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust, ticker ETHA, drove the majority of Ethereum fund redemptions. The fund recorded a net loss of approximately $299 million over five days, representing nearly 93% of all US spot Ether fund withdrawals. Daily flows showed an $85.4 million withdrawal on Monday, followed by a $24.8 million inflow on Tuesday before selling resumed on Wednesday through Friday.
Fidelity's FETH fund managed modest positive flows during the week, indicating that investor behavior varied across different fund issuers.
ETF flow data measures creations and redemptions of fund shares rather than direct demand metrics for the underlying assets. The concentration of withdrawals in the largest Ethereum product raises questions about whether institutional capital will return to Ethereum at the same pace as Bitcoin if market conditions improve.
