Fidelity's spot Bitcoin ETF, trading under the ticker FBTC, recorded $310.72 million in net inflows on September 18, according to flow data. The single-day surge represented roughly 72% of the $433 million in total net inflows across all US spot Bitcoin ETFs that day.
FBTC and BlackRock's IBIT, which added $108 million, together accounted for approximately 97% of the day's capital flows into spot Bitcoin ETFs. The concentration underscores the competitive dynamics in the ETF category.
Fund Performance Since Launch
Since launching in January 2024, FBTC has accumulated approximately $10.36 billion in net inflows, placing it second only to BlackRock's IBIT in total capital attracted among US spot Bitcoin ETFs.
In August, FBTC recorded a nine-day consecutive net buying streak totaling $413.1 million. The September 18 inflow represents roughly 75% of that multi-week accumulation compressed into a single trading session.
ETF Market Structure
As of September 18, total assets under management across US spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $102.53 billion, representing 6.29% of Bitcoin's entire market capitalization. This share reflects significant growth since regulators approved spot Bitcoin ETFs in early 2024.
When ETFs receive net subscriptions, authorized participants must acquire equivalent amounts of Bitcoin to create new shares, transmitting demand directly into Bitcoin's order books and tightening available supply.
