Bitcoin dipped below $77,000 over the weekend, touching a local low of $76,400, but has since recovered to trade closer to $78,000. The cryptocurrency enters what is anticipated to be a crucial week featuring the Federal Reserve's upcoming decision and voting on the CLARITY Act. Bitcoin's market capitalization stands at $1.560 trillion, with its market dominance at 59%.
Earlier in the previous week, Bitcoin made multiple attempts to break the $80,000 threshold but faced persistent resistance from bears. Price volatility spiked following the release of the Producer Price Index (PPI) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, which drove rapid price swings between $76,000 and $79,800 before prices settled back toward the $77,000 level.
Across the broader cryptocurrency market, total capitalization increased by 1% daily to reach $2.650 trillion. Ethereum rebounded above $2,500, BNB held north of $720, and Ripple's XRP gained over 3% to test the $1.40 resistance level. ZEC climbed past $1,140 following a 5% increase, while XMR declined by nearly 4% to $515.
Among the top performers from the top 100 altcoins, BTW surged over 32% to $0.77, and Filecoin (FIL) jumped 25% to reach the $1.00 level. Additional daily gains were also recorded by LIT and STABLE.
