Filecoin [FIL] rose 13.6% over the past 24 hours to reach nearly 20% gains from its recent low of $0.66, according to CoinMarketCap data. Daily trading volume surged to $255 million, representing a 366% increase from the previous day.
The price movement coincided with Bitcoin consolidating around the $78,000 mark, which analysts attributed to capital rotation into altcoins. Short liquidations between $0.70 and $0.80 failed to slow the rally, with cascading liquidations further accelerating the upward move.
Technical Resistance Levels
Filecoin faces two key liquidity clusters that traders are monitoring. A cluster is building around $0.816, with the $0.866 level representing a more significant resistance point. Breaking above $0.866 would mark a shift in the higher timeframe trend structure.
On the 4-hour chart, price action shows a bullish swing structure. The recent retracement from $0.866 halted at the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.66, signaling buyer demand at lower levels.
Overall Structure Remains Bearish
Despite the strong recent gains and volume, Filecoin has not yet closed a daily session above $0.833, a high reached on June 17th. This failure to break above that level means the overall price structure remains bearish until a more decisive breakout occurs.
Technical indicators show mixed signals. The On-Balance Volume (OBV) is attempting to reach new highs compared to the past three months, while the MACD indicator is struggling to cross above the neutral zero line to confirm bullish momentum.
