Fomo, a social crypto trading app built for Robinhood Chain and other blockchain networks, has reached the top five U.S. finance apps on Apple's App Store, overtaking Cash App and rival prediction market Kalshi.
The achievement represents a significant milestone for a crypto-native startup, as finance app rankings are typically dominated by established banks and payment platforms. Fomo briefly reached third place on the charts and currently ranks in the top 15.
Growth and Funding
Fomo launched its public beta in May 2025, founded by Paul Erlanger and Se Yong Park. The app has since attracted between 470,000 and 625,000 users, with more than $2.5 billion in cumulative trading volume across its platforms.
In November 2025, Fomo closed a $17 million Series A led by Benchmark, backed by 140 angel investors including Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron, Solana co-founder Raj Gokal, and former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan. A subsequent Series B round raised an additional $75 million when user base had surpassed 600,000 and trading volume exceeded $4 billion. Total disclosed equity funding reached approximately $94 million.
Social Trading Approach
Fomo differentiates itself by emphasizing social features over traditional trading tools. The app enables users to view real-time trades from people they follow, track leaderboards, copy trading signals, and fund trades instantly through Apple Pay.
The platform supports trading across Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, and Robinhood Chain. Fomo maintains a 4.6 to 4.8-star rating on Apple's App Store with over 14,000 reviews and a 4.7 rating on Google Play with more than one million installs.
