Gemini and Apex Fintech Partner to Expand CFTC-Regulated Prediction Markets

Gemini Space Station and Apex Fintech Solutions Inc. have signed a letter of intent to expand access to regulated crypto prediction markets. The partnership combines Apex’s brokerage infrastructure with Gemini’s federally regulated trading and clearing operations.

Under the proposed agreement, Gemini Titan would serve as the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant. Participating brokerages would be able to utilize Gemini for execution and clearing without the need to build direct connections to a prediction market exchange.

While the arrangement for crypto event contracts distributed through Apex’s FCM is exclusive, the companies may also collaborate on other event contracts covering sports, economic data, and financial markets on a non-exclusive basis. The agreement has not yet been finalized, and both companies anticipate completing remaining terms in the coming weeks.

Regulatory Foundation and Growth

Gemini launched prediction market trading in December 2025 after Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. In April, Gemini Olympus received a Derivatives Clearing Organization license from the CFTC, allowing Gemini to handle clearing and settlement for Titan through its own regulated operations.

By the second quarter of 2026, Titan had recorded more than 225 million traded event contracts and over 27,000 cumulative traders. Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss stated that predictions are viewed as the future of markets, noting the platform was built internally following more than a decade of operating a regulated crypto business.

Building on Existing Collaboration

The proposed deal builds upon an existing relationship between the two firms. In July, Gemini launched commission-free stock trading for certain U.S. customers, utilizing Apex Clearing Corporation as the custodian and clearing broker.

With this latest initiative, Apex brokerage customers could gain regulated access to crypto event contracts using existing connections. Travis McGhee, Apex global head of digital markets, noted that brokerage clients receive access without needing to build the infrastructure themselves. Final terms remain subject to completion and agreement by both companies.
