GRAM Token Climbs as Telegram Begins Gram Wallet Rollout

GRAM (formerly Toncoin) posted a notable gain after Telegram began deploying its native Gram Wallet to a limited group of users. The token briefly approached $1.45 before settling near $1.40 at the time of writing, representing a 24-hour rise of roughly 2.07%. Trading volume surged approximately 137% as market activity intensified around the announcement.

Rollout Targets Telegram's Billion-Plus User Base

Telegram CEO Pavel Durov confirmed that access to the wallet will expand gradually across the messaging platform over the coming weeks, with the stated goal of reaching its billion-plus user base. The launch follows plans originally announced during the summer.

Gram Wallet is a self-custodial product designed to operate directly within Telegram, set to become the default wallet option accessible through user settings. It supports transfers, payments, and purchases across the Telegram ecosystem, including the ability to buy Telegram Collectibles such as usernames and digital gifts. The service emphasizes instant transfers and zero-fee transactions within the product.

Smart Contract Approved by Validators

According to Durov, validators have approved the smart contract underlying Gram Wallet. The architecture is designed to prevent forced migrations during future upgrades, allowing developers to update the wallet without requiring users to move funds into new contracts. Telegram has positioned this as part of a simplified self-custodial experience.

Wallet in Telegram Rebrands as Walt

Alongside the Gram Wallet launch, Telegram is splitting its crypto products into two distinct services. The existing Wallet in Telegram is rebranding as Walt and will no longer serve as the default wallet. Gram Wallet will focus on payments and transfers, while Walt will provide broader investment and trading tools.

Walt remains accessible through Telegram search and currently supports more than 300 crypto assets across four blockchains, offering trading for over 200 assets and more than 100 tokenized financial products. Andrew Rogozov, founder and CEO of The Open Platform and Walt, said the service has expanded beyond its original wallet model, citing Earn products, real-world assets, and perpetual trading among recent additions.

Technical Levels in Focus

On the four-hour chart, GRAM recovered sharply from the $1.33 area and reclaimed the Bollinger Band midpoint near $1.36. The upper Bollinger Band sits close to $1.385, marking the first short-term resistance zone. A sustained move above that level would bring $1.40 into focus, while the next significant resistance rests near $1.45, where the token recently left a long upper wick. The ADX reading near 29 indicates moderate trend strength. As long as GRAM holds above $1.36, the short-term structure remains constructive; a drop below that level could see the price revisit $1.33.
