GRAM Token Rises 9% as Telegram Expands Money Wallet Access

GRAM has surged 9% to $1.56 following Telegram's expanded rollout of Money, its native non-custodial wallet for cryptocurrency transfers and collectible purchases. The wallet, previously available to select Telegram users, is now reaching a broader audience across the messaging platform.

Money enables users to store and transfer Gram directly from Telegram, as well as purchase gifts and collectible usernames. When users receive an incoming transfer, the Money section appears in their interface, allowing them to top up their wallet and conduct transactions described as instant with zero network fees.

The wallet expansion represents part of Telegram's wider effort to integrate cryptocurrency into its messaging platform. Money complements Walt, Telegram's separate crypto service that offers broader trading functionality across more than 300 assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, alongside tokenized stocks, metals, and perpetuals.

The key difference between the two services lies in their scope and structure. Money focuses on Gram payments and transfers within Telegram and functions as a non-custodial wallet. Walt provides both custodial and decentralized finance wallet options, offering users more general cryptocurrency trading and investment features.

During the rally, GRAM's market capitalization and 24-hour trading volume increased 9% and 41% respectively, reaching $4.12 billion and $132.4 million. The price movement reversed bearish momentum that had dominated the token's trend over the previous seven days.

Telegram previously rebranded Toncoin to GRAM as part of its broader effort to position the asset within its expanding payments and digital-asset ecosystem, while the underlying TON blockchain retained its original name.
