Grayscale Investments launched its Model Portfolios suite on September 14, offering pre-built allocation strategies for financial advisors to incorporate digital assets into client portfolios. The products manage asset selection, sizing, diversification, and rebalancing within a single framework.
The Next Gen strategy, which excludes Bitcoin entirely, allocates 26.11% to XRP, making it the second-largest holding behind Ethereum at 42.34%. The allocation also includes Solana at 21.09%, Hyperliquid at 5.76%, Chainlink at 2.66%, Avalanche at 1.08%, and Sui at 0.96%. Each strategy caps any single asset at 40%.
All four available strategies—Core Plus, Leaders, Next Gen, and Infrastructure—are market cap-weighted and rebalanced quarterly. Financial platforms deliver these models to advisors, who retain full discretion over whether and how to employ the suggested weights.
XRP's positioning shifts in Bitcoin-inclusive strategies. In the Digital Assets Leaders model, which includes Bitcoin and Ether, XRP ranks third at 11.92%, with Bitcoin at 37.25% and Ether at 38.57%. Bitcoin and Ether together comprise more than three-quarters of that allocation.
According to Grayscale's sector breakdown, XRP alone represents the "Currencies" slice of the Next Gen model at 26.11%, while smart-contract platforms account for 65.47%. The Next Gen strategy has generated a 30.69% return since inception.
Grayscale noted that advisors increasingly seek ways to add digital assets to client portfolios without managing allocations individually. XRP exchange-traded funds attracted $12.29 million in inflows in early September, with Grayscale's GXRP contributing $2.98 million of that total.
