Grayscale has established its XRP exchange-traded fund as a significant holding across two new model portfolios designed for financial advisors. The asset manager launched four digital asset strategies on September 14, packaging multiple single-asset ETFs into professionally constructed allocations for distribution through financial platforms.
In Grayscale's Digital Assets Leaders Model Portfolio, the XRP ETF holds the third-largest allocation at 11.92%, behind ether at 38.57% and bitcoin at 37.25%. The Leaders strategy also includes solana at 9.63% and hyperliquid at 2.63%. This portfolio uses market-cap weighting, rebalances quarterly, and caps any single asset at 40%.
The XRP allocation grows substantially larger in Grayscale's Digital Assets Next Gen Model Portfolio, which explicitly excludes bitcoin. In that strategy, the XRP ETF commands 26.11% of the portfolio, second only to ether at 42.34%. The Next Gen model also includes solana, hyperliquid, chainlink, avalanche, and sui, with holdings weighted by market capitalization and rebalanced quarterly.
Laurie Katz, Grayscale's Global Head of Distribution, stated that advisors seek ways to incorporate digital assets into client portfolios without building allocations asset by asset. Grayscale will distribute the models through Grayscale Advisors to financial platforms, where advisors retain discretion over implementation.
The portfolios add to the regulated channels available for XRP exposure. Rather than direct cryptocurrency ownership, the model portfolios use ETP shares, expanding options alongside the growing U.S. spot XRP ETF market.
