The Institutes RiskStream Collaborative has joined the Hedera Council as a strategic partner, expanding Hedera's involvement in property insurance technology. RiskStream represents more than 30 carriers, brokers, and reinsurers operating in an industry that wrote over $1.1 trillion in direct written premium in 2025.
The partnership builds on RiskStream's existing work with Hashgraph to tokenize property risk data. Commercial and residential properties will be assigned persistent public tokens on Hedera, while sensitive details including construction, occupancy, protection, and exposure data will be processed through the permissioned HashSphere ledger. This separation keeps public asset identification distinct from private insurance information.
The project is now advancing from proof of concept into a pilot phase with carriers and brokers, with data providers expected to join later.
Broader Applications Beyond Property Insurance
RiskStream's asset tokenization framework could potentially extend to other insurable assets, including auto, aerospace, and surety bonds. However, the initiative remains in pilot status rather than representing an industry-wide rollout.
Market Performance
HBAR is trading between the 200-day and 50-day exponential moving averages following a reaction from the $0.06850–$0.07699 demand area in early September. A move above the 200-day EMA could potentially open levels toward $0.12000 or higher, while a break below the demand area could lead to the next downside level of $0.04531.
