The Injective native token, INJ, experienced a price increase of approximately 9%, reaching $4.40 following regulatory developments in the United States.
Injective Institutional Services secured official registration status as a transfer agent with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. Transfer agents act as custodians of official securities ownership records and manage modifications to those files. The SEC permits registered transfer agents to utilize distributed ledger technology for their primary securityholder files, enabling ownership documentation to be maintained natively on blockchain networks.
Traditionally, blockchain platforms record ownership data onchain while legally binding records remain in conventional databases. This separation creates reconciliation challenges between blockchain transactions and traditional record-keeping. The SEC registration allows Injective to maintain official securities documentation directly on its blockchain network.
The approval aligns with Injective Mint, a platform built to enable issuers to create and manage assets with protocol-level compliance features. These functions include transfer restrictions based on holder identity and location, role-based administrative controls, address freezing capabilities, and regulated token creation and redemption.
Injective has previously collaborated with organizations including BlackRock, Nomura’s Laser Digital, and Hamilton Lane to facilitate tokenized institutional investment vehicles, publicly traded equity securities, private company shares, and corporate receivables.
In addition to the U.S. registration, Injective's MiCA documentation has been added to Europe's ESMA Interim MiCA Register following required notification and disclosure procedures.
