Injective has officially launched the Super Intelligence Compute Index (SICI), introducing a new benchmark that provides traders with exposure to NVIDIA GPU rental prices through perpetual contracts offering up to 10x leverage.
The newly introduced index combines five different NVIDIA GPU rental rates into a single onchain benchmark. It is designed to target a market growing alongside the demand for AI training, inference, and autonomous agents. The index weights various hardware generations and computing workloads, allocating 40% to H100 GPUs, 25% to B200, 15% to H200, 10% to A100, and 10% to RTX 4090 units.
By turning compute pricing into a financial market instrument, Injective shifts focus from the companies building AI to the underlying infrastructure costs. The index utilizes hourly data from compute marketplaces to consolidate fragmented rental pricing across different cloud providers and hardware types.
This release builds upon Injective's previous expansions into AI-related markets, which have included an onchain H100 rental market, the AIX index, and pre-IPO perpetual contracts tied to firms such as OpenAI, SpaceX, and Anthropic. Injective has also announced plans for an additional financial primitive for accessing SICI in the coming days.
While the perpetual contracts allow for leveraged exposure, the sustainability of the market depends on whether traders consistently utilize the products as AI infrastructure demand continues to evolve.
