Internet Computer (ICP) extended its transaction lead over Solana (SOL), with cumulative transactions surpassing 308 billion, according to Chainspect data. Solana followed at approximately 133 billion transactions.
The higher activity did not translate into relief for ICP's token, which remained under selling pressure.
Internet Computer leads weekly throughput
Internet Computer topped Chainspect's weekly transaction throughput rankings, overtaking Solana after several weeks in second place. The network averaged about 2,323 transactions per second (TPS), compared with Solana's 1,896 TPS over the same period.
Chainspect also reported that Internet Computer processed 256.5 million transactions in one day, averaging 2,969 TPS. That was its busiest day of the quarter.
The lead was not isolated: Internet Computer had also outpaced Solana in previous daily and monthly transaction rankings. Still, transaction counts alone do not establish the number of users or the value transferred.
Active addresses rebound
Daily Active Addresses rebounded, rising from approximately 2,800 to 3,800, according to Santiment. Activity then jumped to around 7,400 on Oct. 21 before retreating and subsequently averaging approximately 3,500.
The rebound suggested stronger participation than recent lows, though activity remained uneven and substantially below earlier peaks. Active Addresses do not necessarily represent distinct users or demonstrate an increase in economic activity, leaving stronger token demand as the missing piece for ICP holders.
ICP price remains under pressure
Despite the network activity, ICP's price remained in a descending channel after failing to hold $3.50 two weeks earlier. The decline took the token to a low of $2.50.
The MACD moved deeper into negative territory over two consecutive weeks, reinforcing bearish momentum. Together, the channel and MACD suggested sellers retained control even as network activity improved.
If selling persisted, $2.30 could become the next support test. A move out of the descending channel would offer an early sign that bearish pressure might be easing.
