According to data from RWA.xyz, the total tokenized value of real-world assets (RWAs) reached $39.2 billion in October 2026, marking an increase from approximately $21 billion at the beginning of the year. Despite the nearly 87% growth in the RWA sector in less than 10 months, Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) accounts for a distributed asset value of $322 million, representing roughly 0.8% of the broader RWA market.
To help bridge this adoption gap, Pacific Meta has entered a strategic partnership with Chainlink to support institutional tokenization in Japan. Pacific Meta selected CCIP as its preferred solution for cross-chain interoperability, enabling the transfer of tokenized assets between different blockchains.
This development coincides with broader cryptocurrency and stablecoin initiatives within Japan's financial sector. In June 2026, Japan's three largest banking groups—MUFG, SMBC, and Mizuho—announced plans to launch a shared yen stablecoin for business payments. The banks subsequently completed a joint trial of stablecoin-based cross-border payments.
As traditional financial institutions in Japan explore stablecoin adoption and institutional tokenization, the demand for transferring tokenized assets across multiple blockchains is expected to rise. Increased institutional adoption in the region could provide new opportunities for CCIP to expand its presence within the growing RWA market.
