Crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun posted on social media accusing Chinese actress Jing Tian of reneging on a financial agreement. The public dispute has generated significant attention in China, though for reasons that may differ from what Sun anticipated.
According to Sun's account, he approached Jing Tian after a long-standing personal interest and paid her 30 million yuan. Sun claims that Jing subsequently requested additional money, at which point he consulted Claude AI, which advised him to terminate the arrangement. Sun is now pursuing legal action.
The incident has drawn attention to Sun's broader reliance on artificial intelligence for decision-making. In an interview with Phoenix Network, Sun stated that he uses Claude for business decisions valued at tens of millions of dollars daily and has the system conduct regular audits of his companies. Sun did not clarify whether these decisions are implemented independently or whether the audits are verified by professional auditors.
When asked whether he might have benefited from using a Chinese AI platform instead, Sun offered no response. At the end of the interview, Sun appeared uncertain about whether publishing his account was advisable, suggesting he may have been influenced by Claude's input on the matter.
Jing Tian has denied Sun's claims twice—through her studio and on her personal account—keeping her public statements brief. Both responses indicated her preference for resolving the dispute through legal channels.
