A significant transfer of Uniswap tokens has raised questions about market confidence. According to blockchain monitoring service Lookonchain, a trader withdrew 1.79 million UNI tokens, valued at $13.18 million, from Venus Protocol and deposited them on Binance.
The trader originally purchased UNI approximately one year ago at an average price of $9 per token. Following recent price movements, the position faced substantial losses. At the time of reporting, selling at current levels would realize approximately $3 million in losses.
Market Context
At the time of writing, UNI was trading around $7.52, up 1.26% on the day. The token had recently reached a local high of $7.54 following its low of $7.00, showing consecutive days of higher closes.
Trading volume, however, declined 47%, signaling reduced market activity as investors awaited clearer direction.
Mixed Signals on Price Direction
The large holder's transfer suggests potential lack of confidence, though the transfer itself does not confirm a sale has occurred. Typically, sales by large holders increase available supply and can add downward pressure.
Contrasting this potential selling pressure, other investors appeared more optimistic. Exchange Netflow data from CryptoQuant remained negative for three consecutive days, falling to -624K over the past day, indicating that more assets have recently left exchanges—a sign of accumulation in the spot market.
The altcoin's Spot Taker Cumulative Volume Delta remained positive over the past week, suggesting buyers have extended their dominance and may help absorb selling pressure.
Technical Outlook
Despite renewed buying activity, demand had not been sufficient to trigger a trend reversal. UNI's Relative Strength Index remained in bearish territory at 46, while the token traded below its 20-day exponential moving average and was testing the 50-day EMA, which could serve as support.
Market conditions suggested demand remained insufficient for a notable rebound, leaving UNI at risk of further decline or extended consolidation.
