Ledger announced the Atom on October 15, 2026, an $849 smartphone-shaped security device designed to protect cryptocurrency holdings. The announcement comes as the hardware wallet manufacturer investigates a suspected $93 million cryptocurrency theft linked to modified Ledger devices distributed through Cryptobilis, a reseller operating in Southeast Asia.
The Atom combines a 6.77-inch OLED display, Qualcomm Dragonwing processor, and an EAL6+ secure element running Ledger OS alongside Android. The device features an isolated security environment for sensitive approvals, with dedicated hardware separating transaction signing from ordinary applications.
Ledger Chairman and CEO Pascal Gauthier stated the company is answering customer requests: "For years, our customers have been asking us for a Ledger phone. Today, we answer. Not with another phone. With something new. The world's first device built to protect everything you value."
Security Features and Integration
Solana Mobile's Seeker application comes preinstalled on Atom, providing access to more than 1,500 decentralized applications. The device also integrates Openclaw and its Agent Intent system, allowing users to authorize transactions proposed by artificial intelligence agents.
Atom introduces independently powered tamper sensors and enclosure protections designed to detect physical manipulation. The device will be sold directly, bypassing third-party reseller channels.
Pricing and Availability
The Founder's Edition costs $849 with a refundable $100 reservation deposit. Standard pricing is $899, with deliveries expected in summer 2027.
Background on Supply Chain Compromise
Ledger acknowledged finding an unauthorized hardware implant inside one affected device compromised through the reseller. Onchain investigators estimated losses approaching $93 million, though Ledger has not confirmed that figure. Reports suggest manipulated Ledger devices may extend beyond Southeast Asia into Europe.
