Monero [XMR] gained 10% over the previous 24 hours, standing out among market gainers despite broader bearish pressure. The rally was accompanied by substantial increases in both trading activity and derivatives positioning.
Trading volume nearly doubled to $147 million as traders returned to the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Spot volume jumped 171% to $13.13 million, while futures volume increased 70% to $200 million, indicating renewed market participation across both segments.
Open interest in XMR derivatives rose 11% to $261 million, reflecting expansion in the value of outstanding contracts. Long positioning represented approximately 63% of the tracked sample, signaling bullish positioning among traders.
Support and Resistance Levels
On the daily chart, Monero traded above key exponential moving averages and continued respecting the $475–$500 demand zone, an area that had produced several rebounds and established support for traders to monitor.
Potential Outcomes
For the recovery to sustain, buyers would need to maintain demand and defend recent gains. If bullish momentum continues, the $650 swing high could become the next upside target. Conversely, weakening spot activity or unwinding of leveraged long positions could stall the recovery, testing the $475–$500 support zone and revealing buyer commitment at those levels.
The concentration of long positioning, while currently supporting the rally, could amplify selling pressure if buying interest fades and leveraged positions are forced to exit.
