Moonbeam, a blockchain designed to connect networks and allow developers to use Ethereum tools within a multi-chain ecosystem, is navigating a major transition period. Its native token, GLMR, is utilized for transaction fees, staking, and governance, and currently trades significantly below its early-cycle highs.
Recently, the GLMR token experienced a decline, underperforming a slightly positive broader market due to high-volume selling pressure. This downward movement followed a weekly gain that prompted short-term traders to lock in profits after the token climbed from the $0.0064 area toward $0.08.
Simultaneously, the project is moving through a strategic shift away from its original Polkadot-based model toward becoming an AI-agent settlement network on Base. The migration to Base was completed around a July transition deadline, establishing a new direction centered on autonomous agents capable of discovering services, negotiating terms, and settling payments on-chain.
This AI-agent focus aims to position GLMR as infrastructure where autonomous agents can use the token for guaranteed work, escrow, and settlement. Additional updates include a proposed bond-slashing model that routes locked bonds to harmed parties rather than burning them, as well as alignment with emerging AI-agent commerce standards such as ERC-8004 and ERC-8183.
Technical Analysis and Price Outlook
On the daily technical charts, GLMR has formed a falling-triangle pattern, with lower highs and support defended near its lower boundary. Market analysts note that a crucial breakout level sits at $0.01184, where a strong daily close above the descending trendline could open the path toward resistance at $0.02176.
On the downside, technical levels indicate that GLMR must maintain the $0.0067 to $0.0070 support zone to preserve its recovery structure, with further foundational support noted near $0.0062. Price forecasts for 2026 range from a low of $0.0062 to a high of $0.0217, while long-term projections extending to 2030 outline potential peaks reaching up to $2.78 depending on cross-chain adoption, ecosystem growth, and the success of the new Base strategy.
