
Elon Musk has asked why Starlink still has no India licence, escalating his dispute with New Delhi. In a post on 8 October, Musk said Starlink is licensed in over 165 countries and has spent five years following “every single law and requirement” of the Indian government. He then asked whether Ambani is “the real boss of India”, without offering evidence. Jio, run by Reliance, is one of three operators the Centre says face the same security assessment as Starlink. The Centre says licences are already granted and spectrum comes only after security clearance. It has called the bias claim “baseless and misconceived” and has not addressed the Ambani remark. Earlier reports put Starlink’s wait at nearly four years.
