A former armored truck driver in New Hampshire has been indicted on federal charges accusing him of stealing $259,574 from ATMs and spending the funds on luxury purchases, vehicles, and travel.
According to federal prosecutors, 41-year-old Christopher Skinner of Milford, New Hampshire, worked alone to remove cash bundles from ATMs across the state before servicing the machines. The alleged thefts occurred between February 2 and February 26, 2024, involving two FDIC-insured banks.
A federal indictment filed on August 5, 2026, charges Christopher Skinner with 18 counts of bank theft, alongside money laundering and conspiracy counts. His partner, 37-year-old Amee Skinner, faces related money laundering counts. Both defendants pleaded not guilty in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and remain presumed innocent.
Prosecutors state that cash deposits into the couple's accounts spiked following the alleged thefts. The funds were reportedly used for substantial personal expenses, including $40,000 in cash for a 2019 GMC Sierra, $28,814 in cash for a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, a luxury cruise, and various travel, retail, and online purchases.
If convicted, the defendants face significant prison time. Each bank theft count and money laundering count carries a maximum prison term of 10 years, while the money laundering conspiracy count carries a maximum term of up to 20 years.
