Obol World launches $OBOL API, directs 80% of revenue to buybacks and burns

Obol World has launched an API for its $OBOL token and launchpad, allowing external applications, trading bots and automated agents to launch, trade and discover coins from outside its own platform. The API went live on November 1, 2026.

Developers can obtain free API keys, and transactions use self-custodial wallet signing. That means users approve transactions with their own wallets, and Obol World does not hold their keys. The API handles the technical process while the user keeps control of the funds.

Revenue set for buybacks and burns

Under the new framework, 80% of revenue from both the $OBOL token and the wider protocol goes to buying tokens on the open market and burning them. The remaining 20% is set aside for liquidity, infrastructure and growth.

The program is not starting from zero. As of October 31, 2026, Obol World had repurchased approximately 2.67 million $OBOL tokens through buybacks. The project also tracks its buybacks on a public page, giving holders a way to check the numbers themselves instead of relying on announcements.

Fee options for launched coins

Each coin launched through Obol World can choose where its fees go. The options include sending fees to holders, to creators, or into perpetual futures positions on Hyperliquid. Perpetual futures, or perps, are derivatives contracts with no expiry date that let traders bet on price moves with leverage.

Two projects use the $OBOL ticker

The crypto market now has two projects using the $OBOL ticker, and they do different things. The Obol Collective is an established project focused on Ethereum distributed validators. Distributed validators split the job of running an Ethereum validator across several machines or operators, so one failure does not knock the whole thing offline. That project has its own $OBOL token.

Obol World is a coin launchpad and trading platform. Its token revenue story is built around market buybacks, not staking infrastructure.

The developer behind Obol World goes by @Nan0q_ on X. The project’s revenue-sharing model has drawn positive attention, largely because it ties protocol earnings directly to the token and is designed to fund development from its own activity.
