OKX has launched OKX Money, a consumer app designed to let eligible users convert more than 50 local currencies into USDG, USDC, or USDT stablecoins, transfer balances, and spend through virtual or physical payment cards.
The app allows users in participating markets to fund accounts with local currencies and hold dollar-backed stablecoins. Customers can send stablecoins, switch between supported tokens without conversion fees, and use cards for purchases in other currencies. OKX states it will charge no foreign-exchange fees or markups on card transactions.
Qualifying customers can earn up to 10% annual percentage yield on eligible USDG holdings without lockup or staking requirements. The app also offers up to 10% cashback on eligible purchases and referral rewards. Rates, eligibility, and availability vary by location.
The product addresses consumers seeking access to digital dollar savings and global payment infrastructure. OKX did not disclose its initial launch markets or identify the provider of its card program.
The rollout reflects a broader industry shift as cryptocurrency exchanges and payment firms increasingly position stablecoins as consumer financial products—dollar balances for everyday saving and spending rather than trading tokens. Crypto-card spending reached over $1 billion this year as companies compete for market share.
OKX ranks third globally by trading volume, with 24-hour volume exceeding $2.2 billion. The company secured a Maltese payments-institution license this year to support European stablecoin and card services, furthering its consumer-finance expansion.
