OKX transferred 110,779,994,032 Shiba Inu (SHIB) tokens from its cold wallet to a hot wallet, according to blockchain analytics firm Arkham. The transfer, valued at approximately $615,000, occurred at 03:09 UTC.
Crypto exchanges typically move assets from cold storage—offline secure vaults—to hot wallets to increase accessibility for customer transactions and withdrawals. The movement suggests OKX may be preparing additional SHIB liquidity for withdrawal processing, though the transfer alone does not confirm active user redemptions.
Following the transfer, OKX's hot wallet retained approximately 205.68 billion SHIB. The wallet also processed several internal transfers over the past 24 hours, including moving 20.59 billion SHIB to another OKX hot wallet and sending smaller amounts totaling over 119 million SHIB to unlabeled addresses.
OKX's cold wallet remains a major SHIB repository, holding approximately 6.70 trillion tokens and ranking as the 10th-largest known SHIB holder on the network.
Market Activity Increases
SHIB gained 3.92% over the past 24 hours, trading at $0.00000563 at the time of reporting. The token climbed above the $0.0000055 level during the period.
Exchange inflow data showed continued SHIB movement across trading platforms. Over 24 hours, 242.46 billion SHIB flowed into exchanges while 105.46 billion SHIB flowed out, resulting in a net inflow of approximately 137 billion tokens. The total amount of SHIB held on exchanges increased to roughly 87.56 trillion tokens.
Increased token movement between wallets and exchanges does not indicate whether holders intend to sell, withdraw, or transfer their holdings for other purposes.
